Pecorino Pepato is Italian, which translates to ‘sheep cheese with pepper’.
The Pepato has similar characteristics to Pecorino (a strong, sharp romano style flavour with a firm texture), with the addition of peppercorns throughout the wheel.
The pepper brings a heat to the flavour which complements a wide range of uses, including grating over pasta, micro-planed over a steak or beef roast or enjoyed with a smooth finishing red wine.
The Pecorino Pepato is sold in blocks of 150 grams. Because we hand cut our cheese it’s difficult to get the weight spot on at 150 grams, so it may be over this weight, but never under. Anything extra is just a free gift from us to you.
